2. How did you used the course resources to study for the final exam? ------------------ I tried my best to follow the instructor's suggestions for studying. I practiced writing most of the previous midterms (2014,2012,2011) as well as our midterm again. I practiced writing 3 of the finals (2014,2013,2012). I searched through the textbook for some of the solutions to questions as suggested by the instructor. I re watched videos for concepts that I found more difficult. I re-did all the quizzes. I browsed through the course forum while studying to keep up with other student's questions/concerns, and I went through class activities that I remember having difficulty with during the term. I also went through all the class slides notes, and assignments. Lastly, I went to the homepage of each module and used it as a check-list for concepts to know. To prepare for the final, I would be reviewing everything we have covered including quizzes and midterms as well as previous midterms/exams practice problems and R tutorials to study the commands. I referred to many of the old midterms and exams to practice for both the midterm and final exam. I also referred to the R software tutorial when I was first starting to use it during the course. I watched the video, reviewed the previous final and midterm exams and with the feedback I got from them I went back and reviewed my lecture notes and text book again. I have gone though all of the quizzes again to check my understanding of the concepts that were covered in class as well as gone through the in class activities again. Before the exam I also plan to go over the previous exams. I used it when i started studying. It was compact and had all the information i needed to study. Looking at the activities we did in class and reading things I am unsure about in the textbook is helpful for me. I have never been much of a study-er though. Used the notes and prior exams to practice and study. I did the past midterms without looking at the solutions using notes and when I finished the midterm, I marked it using the given solutions. Rewatching videos and looking through quizzes and in-class activities again. Also looking at past exams. It's really nice to have so much material to study with. I had already watched the videos beforehand, so I used the conventional 'read from the book' style and used the previous years' resources (assignments, exams etc.) to brush up. Mostly just watched and made notes on the videos. Also looked back on some of the quizzes on topics that I found difficult. I rewatched all the videos and went through parts of the text I had found useful I rewatched all of the videos and took notes, which I did not do consistently during the term. I printed all of the in-class solutions to refer to during the exam just in case, and I looked at some of the previous exams. Re-watched videos and referencing the textbook for better understanding. I re-watched videos that I felt I hadn't understood properly and reviewed the slides. I also looked through the quizzes again. The slides were mostly used to study for the final exam. Videos and the course textbook were also used sometimes when I could not remember certain things. I watched all the videos I hadn't had the time to watch. I went through some in class assignment handouts. And I plan to redo the quizzes if I have time. I used all the course resources. I rewatched all the course videos, went through all the quizes, in class activities, assignments, and the midterm before the final exam. "Printed powerpoints, in-class solutions, and practice problems. Videos missed will be watched. Quizzes missed will be done time permitting. " - I watched the videos and did the quizzes on the course website. Looked over the in class activities. I watched some key videos again, read the course textbook and jotted down important points, revisited the class handouts, and went through previous exams I looked over the R tutorial and past exam questions. I'm still studying now, but I'm going through the videos a second time while making notes on the most important concepts I can identify. go over all the videos. Good thing was that the videos were short in length so I could go over them several times and do the quizzes again. Once i knew the material i went over the class assignments again By viewing the lecture notes and re-watching some of the videos to help remember some concepts. Re-doing some of the workshops to apply these concepts. Assignments and the midterm were viewed briefly as well. Previous year midterms and exams will be viewed and practised in more detail. Watched all lectures and now solving questions. I re-watched a couple of videos that I was a little bit unsure about, and I re-did all the in class activities over again as a method of studying. "I have not used the course resources yet. " "Watched all the course videos again. Did prior exams and midterms. Went through in class activities again. " I watched all the videos and I made my own set of notes that I thought were important. I am currently reviewing my notes and comparing them back to your PDFs to see if I missed anything. Also I plan on redoing all of the group activities. I watched the videos.Especially for the last three topics.I looked at some of the inclass activities.I also worked through the solutions. "- Review the course videos once more, verifying and brushing up the notes - Prepared a (short) summary (several pages for the entire course) of key concepts, methods and examples used - Review the in-class handouts that I received less than perfect on to ensure that the concepts are cemented - Review the quizzes - (plan to) do the practice exams and midterms posted" I used the prior four final exams which I found very helpful to get an idea of how questions are usually asked. And reviewed the midterms as well. I don't think watching the videos again will be helpful. So if I have some doubt I usually go to the PDF slides, it is quicker. I was going through the questions from past exams, and writing my own cheat sheet for the final, with my view from each section of the course. I went over the videos and if i had hard time understanding a concept, then i used the textbook provided. I made my own notes from watching the videos. "I went through all the in-class activities again and looked through the solutions. I went through the PDF notes and jotted down useful information to help study. I did not go through all the videos again because I felt that it would take too much time, and I do not have much of it to spare." "Reviewed in-class activities. Looked at previous exams (2013, 2014). Looked at midterm 2015. Watched portions of videos I needed clarification on. Consulted textbook to cross-reference videos. Made a cheat sheet." I used the textbook primarily in my studies along with the in class activities. I sometimes found the pdfs hard to obtain the full information of the topic, and sometimes referred to reading the textbook over watching the videos. I watched all the lecture videos again to revise and prepare for the exam. I did not use it. I think the video, quizes, in-class tutorial, were enough knowledge and practice. Videos were the major part of the site I used to study. Also, I check discussion forum to find answers of similar question that I might have. I re-watched the videos and did the old midterms and exams. I re-watched some of the videos. Mostly I used the notes I had made on the slides during the term and added to them by reading the scripts in case I missed anything previously. I re-watched the majority of the videos while jotting down noted on their corresponding lecture slides. In addition, time was spent on the prior final exams and in class activities. I am downloading all the past exams and midterms as a review for myself and make sure I get most of the answers, since the style and format is going to pretty similar it is a good way for myself to test out my knowledge. For the exam, I've printed off the lecture slides and have been watching the videos in 1.75x speed, which has really been effective for me. After I finish watching the segment, I've been redoing the quizzes. I plan on going through all the worksheets again at least once before the exam as well. I am in the process of studying at the moment, but I will be rewatching all videos and going over the course handout solutions in comparison to what we wrote down during class. It was mainly re-watching lecture videos to remember concepts and I plan on looking at older exams very soon. I was able to go over all the lectures online, which was helpful. I feel like if class lectures were recorded and then posted it would not be as useful as a pre-recorded lecture as was given to us this term. The past midterms and exams were extremely useful. I used both PDF lecture slides and the textbook a lot. They helped me study for the midterm and do online quizzes. There are a lot of quizzes so i won't be able to go through all of them. I am not planning on using the forum to help me study for the exam. I am going to go through last year exams to help me study for the final exam. The answers to finals could have helped a lot. By reviewing all of them I re-watched the videos on the topics that were more difficult for me. I also read portions of the textbook if more clarification was needed. For practice questions I re-did the quizzes. Referring to the text, the video lectures (on high speed) and the previous exam questions. I also prepared summary sheets from this content, to take with me. The lecture slides were very helpful, and i re watched some of the videos, and looked over the answers to handouts from class I went through the course forum for questions that other students had as well as the responses to the questions. I went through the online quizzes and in class activities.
